Its an Orange-y world!

OK, before this post I've been searching for that perfect bottle of sunshine for my fingernails. I used to think that orange would an unwearable color for me since I don;t have a fair complexion, I thought I might end up looking like an MMDA traffic enforcer with the reflectors on my nails ( No offense, hehe). So I've been scouring the nail polish counters in every mall I could go to. No luck. Then I had my nails done at Posh Nails in BF Paranaque. Then I stumbled upon an Orly bottle of sunshine. No kidding. When I had it applied by the manicurista, I was really watching her keenly. We even both admired the color. It was a neon orange nor was it too bright to wear daytime. It complemented my complexion and I couldn't stop looking at my nails. Unfortunately, the klutz that I am managed to ruin my newly painted nails in just a matter of 30mins after leaving the nail salon. :( I didn't even get to show it off to anyone. I didn't have time to go back to have it re-touched. Since then I've looked in SM Makati for that bottle, nothing. The sales attendant didn't even know the color I was talking about. Then last month I went to Landmark and I passed by the Orly stall. They had a new collection and I just had to stop and look ( even though I've already told myself that I'll only buy 2 bottles of nail polish per payday, which I already the week before). I picked up a light orange bottle and when I saw the label under, I couldn't help but smile. The SA might have thought that I was going crazy. I was literally giggling over a bottle of nail polish. I might have thought the same thing if I was in her shoes. LOL. Enough of the babbling and let's get it on with the pictures. The first bottle of sunshine I'm going to show you is called "Festival Lights" from Orly. Sorry girls,I forgot the name of collection its from.

(DISCLAIMER:Most of the following pictures were taken using my phone, sorry for the blurry shots.)

*sigh* Ain't it pretty?Sunshine in a bottle, right?

Even Mr. Zombie-head is smiling in agreement :)

Just like other Orly bottles I've tried, the formula is great! Easy application. Though it would be more perfect if the brush was wider.

And now, for the second bottle this is from Etude House's Lucidarling Fantastic nails line. I'm not a big fan of glitter nail polish. Actually I'm not a fan at all. I don't find it pretty on my fingernails at all. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it but its just not my cup of tea (  in this case, its not my bottle of nail polish). I've seen this before but I just kept ignoring it. until Pam posted her swatches. It looked pretty on her and I thought it won't hurt in giving it a try. So here it is.Lucidarling Fantastic Nails #07. Why couldn't they give the bottles prettier names???

I'm only using a point-and-shoot camera and the shimmer still shows

Pretty...Pretty..Pretty..So vibrant!

And now, let's talk about a local brand Caress. I've been a fan of this local brand since I've started my nail polish affair. They have beautiful and unique colors. Let's not forget the price, too. Its only P23.75 per bottle. I saw this color just the other day and I couldn't keep myself from reaching for it. The formula was okay, just needs improvement with the brush too.

So freaggin' affordable and bright!

I was too lazy that day though to do a full-5-finger swatch,sorry.hehehe...But the picture actually shows more orange but in person it looks more red to me.

And now let's talk about my fave orange polish to date, this is The Face Shop OR202. I haven't given much attention to TFS's nail polished before. I've had 2 failed attempts before, they didn't get to meet my expectations once they were applied. But its a good thing I gave TFS another shot. This is jelly orange in person. 80% of the people who noticed my nails during that time liked it.This is only P99, such a great buy for a pretty nail polish.

Pre-clean up shot.Easy application. But since jelly nail polishes are sheer, I had to apply four coats.

There you go, my bottles of sunshine! Will post more soon. Do not hesitate or comment for any question or inquiry. And please watch out for my first give-away promo to celebrate my site's first anniversary. thank you for visiting! (^_^)

ORLY Green with Envy

I don't know if I've said this before but I love ORLY.Its one of the imported/Big 3 free nail polish brands that are available locally and affordable. But that's not why I love the brand.its because of the brush and the formula. The brush isn't that wide but its really long, which would make it easier for us to 'scoop up" (for us Pinoy, mas madaling simutin ang bote.hehehe) the last few drops remaining in the end.Easier application too because of the long brush/handle,your hand will not hinder your sight (if you have big hands like mine, you know what I'm saying).

Aside from the brush and formula,I love their colors too.Its not limited to the shades of red and nude. They have a variety of color hues to choose from.Like this bottle for example. Its called Green with Envy.

                                      (sorry about the blurry picture)

I love green nail polish, just like anything green, it soothes the eye.Its a fun color too. Another good thing about this shade is that it complements my complexion, makes my hands look more fair.hehehe...love it!ORLY bottles are available at selected SM department stores like SM Makati,SM MOA and SM Megamall. Not sure about other outlets. There's also a retailer in Glorietta near Italliani's.Their office is at Unit 302 Quadstar Bldg. No. 80 Ortigas Ave. Greenhills, San Juan

Its raining Minis courtesy of Gingersnaps

Since I've started this blog mid last year, I've been more focused (dare I say it, obsessed) with nail polish. It helped me stop torturing my fingernails and start loving them. It gave me an avenue to express a bit of myself without doing any permanent changes to my body nor receive piercing glares from others.I've been blessed to have followers even though I'm not much of a writer.I've also been following a blog caled Pretty Little Thing, owned by a really sweet lady named Ginger. She's a Filipina based in Europe who loves cosmetics and food, among others. We've been commenting on each other's blogs for awhile now.She came home to the Philippines back in June and we were supposed to meet up but due to her hectic schedule, the plan didn't happened. She just sent me instead a a cute package. So sweet of her.And when I say cute,I'm not kidding. The bottles were so cute!Love it!

When I opened the package, the scent of the gift wrap was so nice!So fragrant.

The colors are feminine, which is so like Ginger. If you'll visit her blog, you'll know what I mean. They're not nude but still colors for a lady.

She posted about this cuticle cream on her blog too and she knew that I was still in the search for a cuticle cream.Just as she promised, she sent me my own mini-jar.Again,so nice of her right?

Now,with this part,I think she somehow read my thoughts or something. I'm not much of a glitter-polish-lover but I saw swatches of this collection and I wanted to try them. But I don't wanna buy the big bottles 'coz I might not like them on my nails. She solved my dilemma just like that.

Look how cute they are,the fit perfectly into my palm.cuteness!

Awesome collection of colors

What did I say, cuteness right?Ginger is just awesome! We'd better meet for up for dinner next time your in town,I'll treat you for some Korean.hehehe...And your bottles are also waiting for you sissy. :) Thanks again!

P.S.

My work had been draining my life force which gives me no time and energy for my me-time,so sorry for the lack of updates and posts BUT I promise that starting next week I will find more time for my blog.I've been shopping and swatching like a crazy person but just couldn't find time to post about it.I will post swatches of these soon and I promise to make it up to you guys. Please watch out for my first give away promo,it will be a celebration of all sorts!Stay tuned.......

NARS Full Metal Jacket

When I read about Chanel Black Pearl online, I fell in love with the color.I love that its not just a color nor its not frosted nor has glitters but it has texture (does that make sense to you?). But its OOS and I couldn't find a bottle even online. One time,I went to Rustan's in Alabang Town Center.I tested Chanel Black Pearl on one of my fingernails and NARS Full Metal Jacket on the nest finger.I was surprised that they kinda look the same,NOT DUPES but similar in a way.Chanel Black Pearl is darker and just the name itself, blacker. While NARS Full Metal Jacket is more on the silver/metallic gray side.By impulse I bought the bottle and another shade named MASH.At that time I thought they looked great on my hands but boy,was I wrong! :( I'm sure these colors would look great on someone else's hands....Just not mine.

So if you want either these two shades,or both, just contact me.I'm selling them for only P750 per bottle.I got it for P995 each.I only used them once.

I liked the formula,I only used 2coats and its already opaque.I wore it for about 5days and no chipping. :)

Message me if you're interested to buy this or wanna do a swap :)

2ne1:The Party

I've already told you guys about my K-pop/K-drama addiction.I've started collecting Cds and Dvds  and some fan stuff. Before I didn't know where to look for those, only in Ebay and Multiply. Even in malls, they have very limited options for fangirls like me.Then I found out ( from a certain Ebay seller) that sometimes there K-events around the Metro.I asked and asked, then I was told that every time there's gonna be a concert  (a Korean artist ,or any Asian pop artist for that matter), a K-fiesta is held right before the event. This got me all excited and giggle for days because we were going to attend 2ne1's concert,The Party.

So I didn't let the chance pass-by and I arrived at Araneta Coliseum about 2hrs before the concert. While I was in the cab I was giggling and can't stop smiling.Listening to SuJu music didn't help to calm me down either. When I got to the venue, the only emotion I felt was confusion.I thought I was in a college fair. There were troops and troops of college and HS girls everywhere I look.I suddenly felt old,an "ahjumma". :( Why didn't we have a K-pop/K-drama invasion back in my HS/college days?? (well, there was an F4 Fever but it wasn't like this)

Like what I've said, troops and troops of school girls

There were also a number of stalls selling K-pop merchs. Some are best buy, some are rip-off's,as expected.

And I'm so glad I  got a chance to buy these:

The SS1 cd+dvd was on sale at Php1200 only,pretty cheap.It usually sells at around Php1800 - Php2200.Best buy,right?While the Sorry,Sorry album was sold to me at Php300 (I think,I already forgot)
.The shoutouts were Php50 each.I've been looking for the Dvd of SuJu for the longest time.I wanted to see them perform ever since I saw their Bonamana MV.Suju did not disappoint me.I love watching their Dvd concert.

And now, let's go to the nail polish part.It was the first concert I've gone to and I wanted wear something  vibrant,a color that screams "POP!" I was choosing between CG Reggae to Riches and
Icing Neon Yellow ( that's the actual color,I just gave it a name.it didn't have a name neither on the bottle nor the packaging)

China Glaze Reggae to Riches

Icing neon yellow (pre-clean up)

I've never worn a neon nail polish before so I thought this would be the perfect event to wear one.I wore Icing to the 2ne1 concert/not-2ne1-concert and I loved it!

My ring finger has a matte top coat here,I thought it was cool but I changed my mind.It looked better as a glossy nail polish.

I loved how it looked on my nails.I'd occasionally stare at them and I wore the color for a week.I didn't clean it up before the application because I ran out of time but it turned out ok.It wasn't that obvious naman na messy. And I think it actually complements my complexion, don't you think?
